Lipifol-D3 Tablet

Introduction

Lipifol-D3 Tablet is a medicine used to treat high cholesterol. This medicine reduces “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides (fats) levels.

Lipifol-D3 Tablet is a combination medicine including vitamin supplements. This medicine also helps to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. This medicine should be taken with food at a fixed time. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to take it. The dose and duration of treatment will depend on what you are being treated for. Do not stop taking it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. Lifestyle changes like low-fat diet, exercise, and no smoking may help this medicine to work better.

Nausea, constipation, stomach pain, and muscle pain are some common side effects of this medicine. It may cause dizziness in some patients but this gets better with time. You may be asked for regular check-up of blood sugar level and kidney function while taking this medicine.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

How Lipifol-D3 Tablet works

Lipifol-D3 Tablet is a combination of five medicines: Atorvastatin, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), Folic Acid, Methylcobalamin and Vitamin D3. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medicine which works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required to make cholesterol. It thus lowers “bad” cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises “good” cholesterol (HDL). Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), Folic Acid, Methylcobalamin and Vitamin D3 provide essential nutrients.
